Huaqing Palace & “Song of Everlasting Regret” Performance
Your evening starts with hotel pickup around 6:00 PM. You’ll drive through the ancient cityscape of Xi’an to the scenic Huaqing Palace, about 45 minutes away.

Upon arrival, your guide will lead you to the performance area and introduce the background of the love story that inspired the show—how Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei fell in love, the turmoil of war, and the eventual tragedy that left their love story to be mourned for centuries.

The show begins as night falls. With natural mountains as the stage backdrop, water reflections and projected images blend with live performances, giving a poetic portrayal of Tang Dynasty’s luxurious court life and the couple’s doomed love.

Lasting around 70 minutes, this is one of the most visually stunning outdoor shows in China. After the performance, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel in Xi’an.
